International Wine Challenge 2024: Silvio Carta wins a Trophy, the highest award

Admin - 12 July 2024 - 0 comments

Now in its 40th year, the International Wine Challenge  (IWC)  is widely recognised as one of the most rigorous, impartial, influential and global wine competitions in the world.

The IWC assesses each wine ‘blind’ and judges it for its fidelity to style, region and vintage.

This year’s Vernaccia di Oristano DOC Riserva 2006 won not only the Gold Medal but also the most coveted award: the Trophy in the Italian Fortified Trophy category.

We thanked the IWC 2024 judges for the prestigious award and the more than positive tasting note:

“An intriguing, complex, and unique dry wine with a botanical note and masses of dry extract and concentrations. Honey and quince on the palate with a pleasantly medicinal finish. A real delight”.

We wish to clarify that our Vernaccia di Oristano DOC Riserva 2006 is not fortified.

The higher alcohol content is achieved naturally through the evaporation of water during the aging process in Sardinian chestnut barrels.

The International Wine Challenge is committed to helping consumers discover excellent wines, and the medals displayed on the winning bottles offer a reliable guarantee of quality.
